Fairfax City’s First Pride Event is June 3

Get ready for an evening of fun and festivities. Fairfax City’s Parks and Rec Department and GMU are partnering to present the City’s first-ever Pride event. It’s planned for this Saturday, June 3, from 5-10 p.m., at Old Town Hall, 3999 University Drive in Fairfax. All are invited and welcome to attend.

Pride is celebrated all year, but especially in June, as a time to reflect and celebrate both the progress and the people of the LGBTQIA+ community. Fairfax City’s free event will kick off on the second floor of Old Town Hall, from 5-7 p.m., with informational vendors from both GMU and Northern Virginia, as well as children’s activities, such as face-painting, fairy hair and crafts.

The rest of the entertainment will be on the first floor. At 6:30 p.m., attendees will be welcomed by both Fairfax City and GMU representatives to commemorate this new celebration. Then, from 7-10 p.m., the fun will continue with a Pride dance party, with several drag queens performing throughout the evening.
