Fair Oaks Townhouse Fire

— Fire officials say a blaze last week at a Fair Oaks townhouse caused an estimated $50,000 damage. The single-family home is at 4815 Green Duck Lane, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to the townhouse last Thursday, June 14, around 8:05 a.m. Firefighters encountered smoke and fire coming from the rear of the first floor of the middle, two-story townhouse upon arrival.

Firefighters conducted an aggressive attack and brought the flames under control in approximately 10 minutes. Officials say the blaze began near the stairs leading to the second floor. Smoke alarms were present. No one was home when the fire broke out, but one person was displaced. There were no injuries.
